Meet The Team
Lead Pastor
Duncan Blackwell
Duncan and Julie Blackwell joined First Baptist Church in June of 2022. Duncan serves as our Lead Pastor, with additional responsibilities in our Missions ministry. Julie is a busy mom to their four sons, Ezra, Owen, Eamon, and Wyeth, all of whom she homeschools. Duncan has served in vocational ministry since 2015. He holds a Master of Divinity with a concentration of in Ministry Leadership and Administration from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. His greatest ministry passions are text-driven preaching, developing Christian leaders within the local church, and equipping the church for both local and global missions.
Worship and Discipleship Pastor
Aaron Robertson
Aaron and Katie Robertson joined FBC in June of 2023. Aaron serves as the Worship & Discipleship Pastor. His wife, Katie, is the Executive Director for OkMEA and homeschools their two children, Teddy and Madeline. Aaron has a Bachelor of Music degree from Oklahoma Baptist University and a Master of Music degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served at churches in Oklahoma and Texas and is passionate about helping the church to worship God, love one another and make disciples of Jesus.
Children's and Family Pastor
D.J. Walter
D.J. and Esther Walter joined FBC in December of 2023. D.J. serves as the Children`s & Family Pastor. His wife, Esther, is a homeschool mom to their son, Malachi. D.J. has been serving in Children’s Ministry since 2005. He has a heart for families and wants all children to know, learn, grow and share Jesus.
Student Pastor
Cory Spieker
Cory was born and raised in Elk City. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1993. He has been a member of FBCEC since 2004, before being called into Youth Ministry in March of 2023. Cory has a heart for youth and seeing the students of Elk City go out into the world as Christian examples to others. Cory and his wife, Christie, have four beautiful daughters: Catelynn, Chelsea, Clancie, and Cassidy and one gorgeous granddaughter, Stella! Cory's family owns Mountain Man's Axe Throwing and Grub, where he is known as the "Mountain Man". He also served as the Mayor of Elk City. If you see him around town, call him whatever you want to, just do not call him late for dinner.

Jenny Kauk
Jenny has been an active member of FBCEC for over 28 years and joined our staff in 2021. She enjoys serving in the children's ministry, youth ministry and guest services. Jenny grew up in Germantown, Tennessee. She attended Oklahoma State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a specialty in Human Resource Management. She is married to Brock and has three daughters: Savannah, Mary Elizabeth, and Audrey.
Ministry Assistant to the Lead Pastor
Shelly Tarrant
Shelly has been a member of FBCEC for 18 years and joined our staff in 2022. She loves children and has been working in children's ministry for 27 years. Shelly attended Oklahoma State University where she obtained a degree in Sociology and she later obtained a M.S. in Human Resources Counseling at East Central University. Shelly and her husband, Anthony, own their own company and have one grown daughter, Raylee.
Ministry Assistant
Paula Mikles
Paula and her husband, Tim, have been members of FBCEC since 2023. They moved to Elk City in 2022, and have made Tim’s childhood home, their own. They are the proud parents of Jared, Kallie, Tanner and Luke and Oma and Papaw to Jaden and Cortland. Paula enjoys cooking and gardening and LOVES Christmas! She started out volunteering in the office and officially joined our staff in September 2023.

Megan joined the staff at FBCEC in 2025.
Facilities Manager
Jeff Creel
Jeff and his wife GiGi have been a very active members of FBCEC for over 30 years serving in many different areas. He joined our staff in 2024 and loves hunting, fishing, and spoiling his grandchildren.
Maintenance
Archor Kelley
Archor is an active member of FBCEC and recently joined our staff after graduating in 2025. He has felt God's call to children's ministry and is actively pursuing that goal.
Lead Maintenance
Eric Truitt
Eric is a native of Elk City and been a member of FBCEC staff since 2022. He enjoys playing guitar and video games.
